If you're coming here after using other BI tools, you will see that creating a Report or Dashboard in INSIA is a breeze. We call these dashboards 'Data Stories'. Our video tutorial will walk you through the process of creating a Data Story in an easy-to-follow manner.
Assuming you've loaded your data through 'Data Connect' - you should see your data showing up in the drop-down recommendations on the search bar. If you haven't already loaded your data, click here.
Steps:
Let us assume you're a sales manager and need to create a simple report on Last quarter's Sales.
Type 'Sales' on the search bar.
Create a new 'Quarterly Sales Report' and add the above result to it.
Now, you can go ahead and cut it by 'Quarter'. To do this you would simply need to type a time dimension - 'Quarter' and add it to your 'Quarterly Sales Report' that you just created.
Now you might need to see your 'Sales' for the last quarter and see it with 'GST'. To do this you can simply type 'Sales with GST' after 'quarter' as follows.
You can keep slicing and dicing to get to the visualization you need. If you need to change the chart, simply click 'Chart Settings' and change it to the chart that suits you.
Please note: You will need to change the chart before saving it to a 'Data Story'. There is no way to change it in 'Data Stories'.
To view your report - click on the 'Data Stories' in the left Nav bar as follows .
Voila. You've now created your first Data Story!🎊
Things to note:
INSIA picks up keywords from your own data that you've uploaded. The above-mentioned keywords may not be the same as your data. Eg: You might call 'Sales' as 'Revenue'; if that's the case, 'Revenue' will show up on the search bar. The above example is a sample Sales Dataset which you can play around with by switching to 'Demo Mode' and selecting 'Sales'
You can resize, and change the layout to your liking by clicking on the filter toggle. Find it in the top right corner of the report. Don't forget to save the chart after you're done customizing it.
