What do you do when you need to look something up on the web? You guessed right!
You would go to your favorite search engine and start typing queries. Won't ya?
We've designed INSIA to be as simple as that, except, this search bar is for your Business Data. For example, if you need to see the Sales of your business, just type in the metric 'Sales' on the search bar, and in less than a second, you will have the answer. Insia.ai search results will present the Sales metric data for further analysis.
This guide explains how to use the search bar with different data points like Dimensions, Operators, and Filters:
Insia.ai search bar allows several functions for users like:
Tracking and monitoring pre-build or custom KPIs and Metrics
Categorizing metric data with dimensions to get multiple views of your single metric
Adding filters such as date, time, and geo-filters
Creating data stories
Performing a drill-down
Setting alerts
Playing around with different charts
Maneuvering the chart setting and much more
The Insia.ai search bar also provides personalized recommendations to each user. It learns the users’ search patterns and prompts suggestions that are specific to their business function. This makes the search bar very interactive.
Just like how a search engine gives you better results if you use keywords, Insia.ai is designed to accept certain keywords in natural language. Now, you might be wondering why can't I just type sentences. This is because data is very sensitive and needs to be accurate. Just typing sentences on the search bar would involve a lot of guesswork which is not ideal for a data intelligence platform. I mean we don't want you to get Insights that are not accurate now, don't we?
Here are a few symbols that will help you understand what is an operator, dimension, or filter.
Metrics: The symbol is “123”
Filters: The symbol is a ‘’Funnel’’ for normal filters and a ‘’Clock’’ for time filters
Dimensions: The symbol is “ABC” for normal dimensions and ‘’Calendar’’ for time dimensions
Operators: The symbol used is a ‘’Gear’’
Drop words: The symbol used is of a ‘’Drop’’
Note: The search bar feature does not need you to learn and memorize keywords. It understands what you are looking for and prompts suggestions, all in natural language.
Some examples of questions you can ask the search bar are:
Spend by month in the current year
Contracts updated in the previous week
Sales between 2018 and 2020
Payments on 20.1.2021
Vendor contact number
