On INSIA, 3D bubble charts are the default data visualization form for presenting three metrics and two dimensions.
Let us understand how data is presented on a 3D bubble chart.
On a 3D bubble chart, two of the three metrics are presented on the two axes (X and Y axes) and the third is presented through the size of the bubble. The larger the bubble, the more value it holds. It represents one of the two dimensions using a color scheme through a legend, while the second dimension is represented through different bubbles.
Look at the GIF below to understand this better.

So in the above example, the goal is to see Sales, Quantity, and Average Unit Retail cut by dimensions - Store Types and Store Cities
Explaining the above example:
The X-axis represents metric 1: Average Unit Retail
The Y-axis represents metric 2: Quantity
Size of the bubble represents metric 3: Sales
Legend represents dimension 1: Store City
Group of similar color bubbles represents dimension 2: Store type
On INSIA, the user can only change the chart type of a 3D bubble to a table. The reason is that no other chart suits the above combination other than the 3D bubble chart.
You can perform a drill-down, set alerts, and generate an automated i360 report on a 3D bubble chart.
