The Top and Bottom Operators on INSIA give you the top 'N' or bottom 'N' number of records of the selected metric. This operator finds either the best or worst performers according to the metric or KPI. This operator helps you understand the strengths and weaknesses of your business.

Both operators are explained below :

Top Operator: If you search “Top 10 Spend by Vendor”, it analyzes the spend on each vendor and returns a list of the 10 vendors that have the highest Spend amount.

Some examples are:

  • Top 20 countries by payment

  • Top 5 months in the current year by sales

  • Top 3 category level 1 by employees

Bottom Operator: If you search “Bottom 5 Spend by countries”, it analyzes the amount of Spend in each country and returns a list of the bottom 5 countries that have the least amount of Spend value.

Some more examples are:

  • Bottom 7 vendors by ACV

  • Bottom 10 category level 3 by invoice issued

  • Bottom 5 years by average spend
