Defining KPI
A KPI, in business terms, is a quantifiable measure that users can use to track the performance of a business process. Simply put, Monitoring KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) helps businesses assess their business activities.
On INSIA, KPIs are the quantifiable parameters that a business uses to assess its performance in a specific area.
Here are a few commonly used examples of KPIs:
Payment: It shows the total value of payments received
Spend: It shows the total amount spend
Deliveries: Total amount of deliveries done
Sales: Total Sales
You may be wondering how to create or manage these KPIs. Right?
KPI Page
All KPIs on INSIA are managed under the KPI console in the Admin Portal.
Once you click on the KPI on the Admin Portal, you will reach the KPI page, which lists all the current KPIs in the form of a table.
Here, you can see the Display Name of the KPI (Name that comes on the search bar), the Table name from where the KPI is created, the KPI formula, Default date column, which is used to perform any time-related analysis or filtering on the KPI.
Scrolling right will show you the other parameters used to create KPIs, such as the Condition, Target Condition, Null and Not Null Dimension, Priority, Units, etc.
Creating KPIs
There are two ways of doing it:
Auto KPI
Create custom KPIs using Insia's No-Code KPI Builder
Auto KPI
When a user loads data for the first time, the platform nudges to create KPIs automatically. It uses fuzzy logic to develop standard Key Performance Indicators from any data you upload. It’s a good starting point to analyze your data.
Custom KPIs
Every business has its own KPIs; sometimes, creating them using the Auto KPI feature is impossible. Don't fret; I can let you know immediately; you DONT need any coding skills to create a KPI on INSIA. We have created a 'No-Code' KPI builder, so you can create KPIs in minutes and have them appear on the search bar. Here's a quick guide on how you can do it.
Click on 'KPI' in 'Admin Home'
Once you're on the KPI page, click on the "Plus" sign on the right side of the config file. By clicking on that, a new Formula builder window will open where you can input all the information associated with that KPI or Metric.
Once your KPIs are created, you can easily use them by simply typing them into the search bar.
