Operator Time Relative compares the performance of metrics belonging to two different time frames. It is more versatile than the time-relative prefix operator. It can compare different time frames that aren’t related to each other.
Types of Time Relative Operators:
Current year vs Previous Year
Current Month vs Previous Month
Current Quarter vs Previous Quarter
Current Quarter vs Previous Year Same Quarter
Today vs Yesterday
By adding the metric of your choice to the end of any above operators, you can compare its performance over two of the mentioned time frames.
Let's look at an example - Say you need to find the ‘‘Current year vs Previous Year Sales”.
Here you see, Sales value of the previous year, the Current Value of Sales, and the percentage change between the two values.
